Judi came to me with her mother’s diamond—a large stone in a setting that didn’t quite suit her—and a handful of smaller heirloom diamonds. She wanted something she could wear every day: organic, chunky, and a little rustic. I recut many of the stones into rose cuts to soften their shine, then set them into a thick, hand-carved 18k gold band with the largest diamond framed in platinum. The mix of textures and tones gives the ring a grounded feel—substantial and unpretentious, meant to be worn anywhere, from a night out to gardening.
