Teresa inherited a piece of scrimshaw that had been tucked away in a drawer. Rather than letting it sit unused, she asked me to create a ring that would frame it beautifully and honor its character. I set the scrimshaw in a wide picture-frame bezel, treating it like a miniature work of art. The band is softly carved gold with a lightly hammered surface, lending a subtle patina that echoes the age and texture of the scrimshaw itself. The result is a one-of-a-kind ring that feels personal, sculptural, and timeless.
