I made this sterling silver bracelet for John — a custom piece built around a hand-carved cuff, riveted to substantial anchor links. The surface is lightly oxidized to bring depth to the carving and reveal the shadows and tool marks left from the making. I like leaving traces of the process visible; it’s an antidote to the sterile precision of machine-made jewelry and a reminder that each piece begins and ends in a maker’s hands.
