Julie came to me with a ton of wonderful ideas and inspiration for a custom ring. Together, we explored a range of possibilities, sketching and refining designs until she found the one that felt just right for her.

After a few design rounds, she settled on a chunky, rich yellow gold ring, accented with a scattering of multihued pink and red gemstones set in low bezels.

This final choice captures everything she wanted: a ring that feels luxuriously substantial on the hand, but also playful and bright with pops of pink and red. Honestly, who isn’t happier when they see pink? The colors add a lightness and joy to the everyday—something that makes wearing it feel special every single day.

Looking back through the sketches, it’s fascinating to see the progression of ideas. There were so many other directions I loved, and seeing them reminds me that just because one design feels perfect now, there are always more ideas in the vault waiting to be explored. It’s a great reminder that creating a custom piece is an evolving process—you might not land on “the one” immediately, but every sketch is part of the journey toward something uniquely yours.
